On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz made history by paying 10,000 BTC for two large Papa John's pizzas. At the time, 10,000 BTC was worth approximately $41. Today, that same amount would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Laszlo posted on the Bitcointalk forum offering 10,000 BTC for two pizzas. A user named 'jercos' took the offer and ordered the pizzas for Laszlo using a credit card. This transaction proved that Bitcoin could be used for real-world commerce.
I'll pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas... like maybe 2 large ones so I have some left over for the next day.
